BIOGRAPHY:
Long-distance runner Øystein Sylta distinguished himself as a world-class athlete when he won a military pentathlon in 2001 and 2002. In 2003, Øystein won the European pentathlon and was awarded the title of Best Military Athlete. He later specialized in the 3,000 meter steeplechase and won the Norwegian Championship in 2008. The same year, Øystein won the Nordic Championship in cross country.
ACHIEVEMENTS:

2006 5,000 meters – Bronze medal
2007 3,000 meters steeplechase – Silver medal
2008 3,000 meters steeplechase – Gold medal
2008 10,000 meters – Bronze medal
